For those not familiar with MELEK-THA please introduce the band.

Hmm... MELEK-THA is about 7 year old now, and at the beginning a friend of mine, Nicolas Foubert, helped me for design and performing photos sessions, etc... He left the band just after the release to my first album Astrum Argentinum out on Adipocere Records in France... Now I do all by myself: music, design, promotion... I try also to help some friends like Pierre from 47Ashes, because I love this musical non sense direction...

What does MELEK-THA mean (translate to English) and why did you choose such a name?

MELEK-THA doesn't mean anything special because this name doesn't exist really! This is a name that I created, but MELEK-THA symbolizes pure hell and damnation!!!

How would you describe your music to anyone who has not heard it yet?

Describe MELEK-THA! I take two different direction with my band, some albums like Evil is Too Strong, Gloriam Demondi or Inferno are more in the vein of dark occult & apocalyptik musical direction, and with albums like Dehumanizer, Armageddon Theory, Organic Mutation, the vein is more industrial & deep ambiant...

How many CDs & LPs have you released and how can anyone get them?

Ohhhhhhh... There are so many albums now! Some out officially on different labels like Dark Vinyl, Cold Spring, Üne Records, Solipsism, and others out only in limited releases of 100 to 200 copies by myself... Which of your releases is your favorite?

I like all CDs that I do, but some like the Sulphurik Vortex or The Earth Abomination are my faves... But in general I always prefer the new one!!

What types of music to do you listen to, and what bands do you feel have had an influence on MELEK-THA's music?

I am an old guy (40 year old), I've been listening to Death & Black Metal for more than 20 years now, and I can say that some ideas or ambient feelings influence me for MELEK-THA!! But I also listen to bands like Sielwolf, Laibach, In Slaughter Natives, Sophia, NON, Les Joyaux de la Princesse, MZ.412, 47Ashes, Skin Crime, etc... But in reality hell influences me really!!!

Who did the artwork for the new CD Gloriam Demondi and how did you meet him, and get him to do the art work for you?

For the Gloriam Demondi album, I was really interested in having a cover made by an artist, and in the Metal scene I found a polish artist who do great cover art!! I gave him some ideas and sent him pictures of the demon head and he made the complete cover... I was really happy with it and this cover is exactly what I wanted for this album... Maybe in the future I will ask this artist a new cover art!!

What can we expect from MELEK-THA in the near future, any new releases planned?

Many, many project for the future, here's in a few words your future apocalypse!!
